Globacap appoints Wealthkernel’s Brian Schwieger as Chairman
Globacap, the private capital markets technology firm, has today announced the appointment of Brian Schwieger as Chairman, assisting Globacap to accelerate in its scaling journey.
Brian currently holds a variety of non-executive director and advisory roles, including as Chair of the Board of wealth tech platform, Wealthkernel. Within this role, Brian has helped to define the firm’s scale-up strategy, built strong stakeholder relations, and contributed to the expansion of the executive team.
As an experienced Board Chair with a strong background in financial services, Brian brings over 30 years capital markets and investment banking experience to this new role.
“As we grow the scale and scope of Globacap, we felt it was the right time to bring in an external Chairman to bolster our board and provide advice and oversight to help drive the business forward. Brian’s expertise will prove a huge asset and we’re pleased to have him join us leading our board, ensuring we’re prepared for our next stage of growth,” stated Myles Milston, Globacap’s Co-founder and CEO.
Brian has a deep background in strategic advisory and capital markets, with his additional roles including Strategic Advisor for early-stage innovator, Imandra, and sitting on the advisory board of next-generation fintech, Quantum Technology Solutions. Brian also brings eight years of experience from the London Stock Exchange Group, where he worked as a Managing Director and Global Head of Equities Trading.
Brian holds a BSc in Economics from London School of Economics and a MSc in Finance from London Business School, in addition to a Certificate in Company Direction and Role of Chair from the Institute of Directors.
Commenting on his appointment, Brian Schwieger said: “Private capital markets have grown rapidly in recent years with more firms viewing them as an important alternative to traditional public markets for investing and raising of capital. Central to this growth has been the advancement of technology which has significantly improved access, transparency, and efficiency. I’m excited to be joining a leading provider in the development of the ecosystem needed to bring together global capital pools and innovative, high-growth companies from around the world.”
